What beautiful eyes ^^

What kind of raptor is this?

I want to say Peregrine...

seems more like a accipiter or a broad wing

I'm no good at identifying birds. I only know bald eagles and Peregrines...but I realize now this guy doesn't have the eye markings of a Peregrine.

I wish I could tell you, but I'm honestly drawing a blank. There were about nine different raptors at FC this year, and this was one of them. All I can say is that he was quite friendly and approachable. :3

Oh wow! I feel like I could touch him (but he would probably snap my fingers off with that wicked beak). If you don't mind me asking, is this a Red-Tailed Hawk? I really do admire avains but unfortunately I'm not very familiar with them, at least not outside of pigeons. Also, is that the flash reflected in his pupil? I can't believe you caught him looking right like that.

I wish I could say, but I've honestly no idea what kind of hawk he is. Unfortunately I missed the first part of the show (where they actually named the critters), and I was so busy snapping photos that I didn't think to ask what species he is.

Yep, that's the flash (I made sure with his handler first that it wouldn't bother him). :3
