This is something Ive been working on for awhile. It's a personal representation of a situation someone I know is going through. The basic jist of it is, having to walk through a particular area in life that you need to go through alone and learn how to survive without the aid of anyone else. Once the obstacles in life are over come, you finally reach that same place where everyone else is and then you can finally take on the rest of your life knowing you succeeded and the right person will be there waiting for you at the end, and will follow you until the end. Hope you enjoy it :))) Let me know what you think.
“THE UNMARKED ROAD”
Take that walk down the unmarked road
I promise to meet you at the end
I’m sorry I cannot follow you to the end
For I have already gone down this road
Be sure you’re ready to walk alone,
Perhaps you’ll meet others along the way
The road may seem scary and unbearable…maybe even endless
But I assure you it isn’t…
You will have to climb the tallest trees and scale the largest rocks
Or even walk through the darkest of places
Don’t try to take shortcuts far away from your path
You may just get lost along the way
There will always be obstacle you’ll have to face
And I know you think it’s hopeless and you’ll want to give up…
…but when you pass them and finally get to the clearing
You’ll see me standing there waiting.
Unlike others who came and left before
I remained at the end until you made it out.
I wanted to see you succeed and overcome the hardest of journeys
And now that you’re here, you can begin traveling a new road
…Only this time you won’t be walking alone.
