Pygmy Kontuga

A subspecies of the Common Kontuga, the Pygmy variety is extremely affectionate and, akin to it's name, a third of the size.
Pygmy Kontuga's commonly reach the size of a German Shepherd, although it has been known for them to grow to that of a St Bernard. Their shorter, but flexible, second limbs mean that they are not adept at climbing trees or grasping onto surfaces, however they can hold onto items easier and can tuck them up against their sides more efficiently.
This subspecies can come with many different traits to it's body, depending on how it was breed. Those whom are related to Marine Kontuga will often have scaled sections, fin like protrusions [including the tail] and the flora that grows upon them are linked to aquatic species. Those linked to Aerie Kontuga often sprout feathers from their crest and hindquarters, and their secondary limbs act more like wings [albeit useless for flying]. Common [or Forest] Kontuga links can have a wide variety of different traits including short or long tails, flora and fungi and occasionally Bonsai trees sprouting upon their backs.
They hone a pouch around their neck which contains an alluring scent to attract prey, as well as spurring flora to grow upon them- the Kontuga is one of the most patient of hunters and can lie in wait for days in order to attract lunch. They simply stay as still as possible, blend in to the surrounding scents and environment and then SNAP. A meal for the kontuga. Kontuga primarily eat meat, however they are omnivorous.
This Pygmy Kontuga is a very Uncommon/Rare member.
