These two are part of the Critters setting - they're Onyx (on the right) and Pearl (on the left). Although their jobs are just as important as everyone else's in the System, they're not called for very often - one reason might be their personalities. Onyx is free-spirited and high-strung, but also careless and chaotic and never cleans up the messes she makes. Pearl, meanwhile, is much the opposite - she's cold, emotionless, uncaring, and supremely pragmatic. Neither of them give any thought to anyone else's feelings; they're both rather selfish in their own ways, and arguments between them can have far-ranging consequences (that neither really care about).
The bit of dialog there was because this picture was originally a response to another one I'd done where I'd forgotten to mention these two in a lineup of the cast. Oops.
