So I got this really nice spiral bound hard cover 11" x 14" sketchbook from a friend for Christmas. Its been sitting amidst my 'pile o' art supplies" ever since as I didn't know what exactly I wanted to use it for. Last week I came to the conclusion that it must be used for my more surreal, bizarre, dreamlike, and unexplainable image ideas.
This is a good example. Based loosely on a dream I had some weeks back. I say loosely since I can't do justice to dream image of what my mind suggested was an impossibly huge eyeball of some god slowly descending through thick cloud cover. The best i can do to describe it is to say it was like part molten lead, part lava, lamp, and part fireball. All reds and oranges with little bursts of yellow deep inside. Just staring at everything and everyone it could with this silent air of complete and utter oppression and dread.
