VORTICON!

Many a day I've spent zapping those guys. Stungun, blaster, more powerful blaster.... It may leave me with a little guilt, but in some circumstances it's unavoidable.

Like when they're blocking a narrow hallway. Or the Vortimoms are spitting ray blasts at me. =/

Yeah, you're not even awarded any points for taking them out. It's not something you want to do, really. At the same time, though, I don't wanna' get stomped by big Vorticon feet. Zap or be zapped. XD

I didn't even know until a few weeks ago that the Vorticons were even vulnerable to the ray gun; I always ran under their high jumps. Tough, but workable.

Yeah, the neural stunner in the first game takes 4 or 5 shots to put a Vorticon out of comission.

You make me wanna play Commander Keen again, maybe I should buy the pack of Steam.

It's awfully cheap, although it's missing a couple of the games.

First of all, it's great to be able to see your work again Vctoria. Secondly, I'm really impressed you did something this cute. It's different from a lot of your work, but I think you did it very well. I like how you used all the curves and seams to make it look stuffed.

And I haven't thought about Commander Keen in years. Maybe even over a decade. This was a very fun surprise to see in my messages. ^^

Before I forget too, I think you did a fantastic job with your story too. Very...intense. That was a very neat read because you've only shown off a little bit of your storytelling ability in comics and I had no idea you were so good at it. Are you still looking for feedback?

I *was* going to just take that brave step forward and try crafting some Vorticon smut...but I was just so enthralled by the concept of a Vorticon doll that I had to try my hand at making one. I did what I could to make the end result as painfully cute as I could muster. And it *is* rather different than my usual efforts, so that's why it was such a small project. "Testing the waters" and whatnot. ^_^;

And I'm still plenty open for feedback on the stories -- positive *and* negative (as long as it's constructive) -- if anyone's willing to give it. I'm glad you enjoyed them so much. Every once in a while, a sequence of events vaguely resembling a story pop into my mind. XD

Strange. I just went back to playing Keen today. We must be on the same mental wavelength or something. XD

You may be interested to know that a Keen modder named Ceilick has made full-sized mods of Keen 4 and Keen 6; they're the first two parts of an unofficial trilogy that was supposed to be officially released by Apogee and ID Software. They're really well-done, and are definitely worth looking into. They're called "The Keys of Krodacia" and "Dead in the Desert." Do a google search; you won't be disappointed.

My boyfriend literally squeed when he saw this. He's a huge Commander Keen nut (to the point where he's memorized the Standard Galactic Alphabet), so this just tickled him pink. Thanks for giving him a bit of joy in his life.

There's even some SGA messages hidden in Tom Hall's Mario Maker levels. XD

But hey, no problem. It was a concept too cute to pass up. ;)
