A commission piece I did for Vel. x3 His character was especially fun to draw. Black on black is quite a challenge, but I thing I pulled it off well enough. I especially loved doing the gauntlet and the masl <3 First jackal I've done too. x3 hope you like it, Vel.
Done with watercolors, alcohol, prisma markers, white get pen, guache and prisma pencil.

Now i honestly cant see how you didn't receive more comments than this,, for a black on black, he came out quite well, for me a challenge was to sketch a friend of mine who is pretty much all white, and all i had to use at the time was white bristol, luckily i was able to cover the pencil with cream pastel but still.
no i think you did very well, considering, what strikes me the most is his hair and the texture job on his muzzle, seems so well detailed, his eyes bare a real nice gaze of mystique.
while it took me a minute to see that he was holding a mask i like the design shape, though i admit, not in so bad a way it harms the piece, but i notice my eyes keep wanting to focus on just that, i figure its the creaminess of color in contrast to the darker values surrounding it, i cant figure any other way to make it look more apparent without it unintentionally being the focal point.
the best feature has to be that gauntlet, seriously how long did that take you? I think what gets me most is the well proportioned shape, seeing as how i have such a time with "special featured" appendages, like this one sketch i did for my nephew, it was a take on a cybernetic arm, very meticulous and time consuming, but so worth the effort.
great job.
