I had the wonderful pleasure of working with  Coonix in recomposing the design of his little rat dude Bastion. Here you can see excerpts of that process.

Bastion is pyromanic. Loves explosions. Doesn't have an ulterior motive, doesn't want to see the world burn or even hurt anyone, just... loves... explosions. Got himself hurt a few times in the process and since then has taken to wearing makeshift armor to protect himself from further damage, hopefully.

Bastion has a functional robotic left arm, large round goggles, a breathing mask, watches on his right arm (to be used as makeshift timers), wires in his hair, cargo pants full of parts and tools, and a screwdriver attached to the tip of his damaged tail. Bastion is missing teeth, his left arm just past the elbow, the tip of his tail, and large chunks of his ears.

Most importantly is his personality. Think less "burn, burn it all!" and more... bliss. Overcome. Enjoying himself, living life to the fullest... in the presence of exploding bombs. Bastion takes shortcuts, takes risks, uses scraps and pieces to cobble together another blowy-up-thing entirely for the pleasure of the process.

So yeah, I had fun bringing this little guy to life. You may see more of him later, from me or anyone else. All images and info regarding Bastion belongs entirely to Coonix, whom I currently worship for reasons and more reasons.
