The detail in this is truely stunning!!! The colours work really well with the character in the overall piece; it makes you look at the whole picture not just the character :)
Did you CTRL C + CTRL P some of the scales or did you do each one individually? (I'm curious, being trad there is no copy pasta option so this would be killa on the wrists)

And in some areas of flat scales, I had drawn a scale 'pattern' and placed it on a few sections, but still tricky work to make all of it unique looking, all the none flat scales are drawn by hand, tbh I drew more by hand than pasting xD
I have a deep respect for traditional artists who can draw so many scales accurately! But once you get the sketched out frame for the scales, it's simpler than you'd think! Still a massive faff.

Such a detailled work. The scales look amazing and I love the pose. It works so well with the picture and how the background gets sharper at some edges and work so well with the character who is lined too.

Thank you so much for this analysis! The pose was REALLY fun to do with a twisty sky noodle, but I tell you it was MURDER trying to get those scales to go around the corners.
It always makes me smile when people like the emotion I try and portray in my pieces, thank you! That's one of my favourite bits to creating art :) <3
