In Dystonia, the Shroud (Lawyer Friendly version of the Shadow) became a sort of legacy character with the most unexpected people.
-First is Jack the Ripper. Not a crime fighter, but someone who inspired the Shroud's look and attitude.
-The second is the real original Shroud, Kent Allard from the pulps.
-The third one is Tom Strauss (Swift), the boy genius from an old novel series. Here he's all gown up and has taken up the Shroud's mission.
-And finally Alister Kramer (formerly Kennith McCallister), the Jigsaw killer from SAW. He's here because, like the original Shroud, he wears black and gray, is extremely brutal towards those who he sees as wrong doers.
Now see, it's a sort of homage to Batman, who was actually inspired by the Shadow (in a way, he was Shadow with a different look). The Allard version is brutal and uses guns. the Swift version after him is played by a former boy adventurer and inventor who made a lot of none leather gadgets to use, including but not limited to the TASER (Tom A. Strauss' Electric Restrainer). It's like the transition from the original batman to the 60s batman.
