N-V & D-Moon, Undead Demon King of Everlasting Envy
When Mephistopheles's essence was split into 7 fragments, the fragment of Envy nested itself into N-V's envious soul, nurturing a demon said to come from a foreign dimension.
Legends speak of a man who felt such intense envy, he ripped his own eyes out just so he wouldn't have to suffer anymore, to no avail.
Eventually the man transfigured into a terrifying form.
Having lost the control over his own emotions, he caused mindless destruction.
Seeing this, the gods cursed the demon into holding the moon aloft in the sky every night.
So came the legend of Dark Moon.
Sometimes, one can hear the wailing of this beast during nighttime, which sounds like creaking and scraping metal.
D-Moon is a very scrawny, tall demon with a permanent expression of sorrow on its face.
His otherwise featureless face reveal his body is actually hollow, representing feeling hollow, like it's worth nothing.
The boney body represents the lack of any real talents or skills, or being malnourished as the result.
The demonic design represents out of control envy.
While not really pictured, it also has two tattered bat-like wings, each containing a claw holding an eyeball in the claws on the joints of the wings, suggesting it really did rip its own eyes out.
It also seems to somewhat lack complete control over its own body, as it tends to move around awkwardly, frequently dislodging various joints in the process, which it then tries to snap back when it's making its next movement.
Despite looking rather weak, D-Moon is actually one of the most powerful demons in existence.
Ironically, despite representing Envy, D-Moon is a shapeshifter.
Its body is largely composed of the otherwordly material Zexonyte, which allows it to phase in and out of dimensions.
It can also break its own body down on a molecular level and rebuild it, allowing it took take any shape desired.
It can even envelop its foes, trapping the victim inside a giant semi-organic maze filled with nightmarish creatures fabricated from D-Moon's own body, and acid pits.
It also has certain control over the undead, able to summon zombies, though they're not very strong.
Its strategy revolves around terrifying its foes in order to make them incapable of fighting properly.
It likes to hang out in dark places like the depths of a cave.
Its echoeing breathing in caves is likely the last thing an explorer will ever hear.
Those who do survive mention that they feel like they're being watched when alone at night.
Pictured size in relation to N-V is accurate.
Whereas N-V represents jealousy, D-Moon represents envy.
Its design is based on Giygas and both OoT ReDead and WW ReDead.
Moreover, Zexonyte is a material in EarthBound used in a machine to travel through time and space.
The description of hearing creaking and scraping metal at night is based on the stories that people hear mysterious sounds in the dead of night in real life all over the world.
There are recordings of these sounds (and they're fricking creepy), and scientists aren't sure what causes these mysterious sounds.
Led to some UFO theories, or the sound of the 7 trumpets signaling the end of the world described in the book of Revelation.
Whatever it is, it's terrifying yet awesome enough to make me incorporate this mystery in the char.
D-Moon is named after the D-Moon Project, my initial art project born because I wanted to become as good as G-Sun, mostly out of jealousy (Hence the demon of envy), which I admit controlled me in the past.
So this char is basically me admitting my faults and to show what not to be, if that makes sense.
(Though D-Moon is obviously exaggerated to epic proportions.)
D-Moon stands for "Dark Moon", and is similar to the word "demon".
I'm glad I learned that I can be an artist on my own and went my own way instead of trying to recreate something that already existed.
I was an idiot for thinking I didn't have it in me, instead leeching off of someone else's success.
So I apologize for my behaviour.
There are still many things I have to work on, but I'm confident I can conquer them eventually.
Always believe in yourself~! ^w^
