I'm going to chalk it up to Pride Land magic. Which I've noticed has become so much more and more overt in how it manifests itself over the years.
From things you might not even think of as magic, like different species talking to each other, when Simba was born. To stuff you could brush off as dreams or hallucinations when he was an adult. To blatant confirmation by the time Kion is born.
So presumably, by the time he and Jasiri become adults, the P.L. magic will have grown to the point that even stuff like this is possible.
