I figured out a way of coloring my work that goes much quicker than it did before.
Hard to explain. More an attitude change than a technique change.
If u wanna know I'll tell you.~
But meanwhile, have this pic of Lukas and his older brother Sirius hanging out.
They belong to
sticky-bubblegum and her webcomic DNA, which can be found here:

Yes this is a big fat signal boost. I seldom get into webcomics. My gut tells me this one is gonna go hard. ^^
No clue where they're supposed to be. I used an auditorium as a reference, but no idea if this is canon or what. Imma let her be the judge.~

Oh man this is so awesome looking!! I've had this open for a while now trying to think of what to say that isn't just, "THIS IS AWESOME," repeatedly but oh man this is great. I love that you remembered that Luke is left-handed, heh.
Thank you so much, this is so great <3

Basically I began using more than one layer of marker years ago to cover for when a marker would run dry mid-color.
Then I realized I was doing it even if I didn't need to because I decided the first color looked too transparent.
So for this one, except for the walls, I deliberately made the conscious decision to do the multi-layer thing rather than doing it on the fly.
And it seems -knowingly setting out- to use more than one color made the coloring process much faster. If that makes sense.
Because the coloring process went like COLOR WASH ONE! OK COLOR WASH 2! And so on.
So it didn't take me nearly as long to add the final small details.
That's what I mean when I say the change here was not in my process, but in the thinking behind my process.

That totally makes sense to me; I eventually came to a similar conclusion with acrylic paint. It does save time to know you're going on to more steps instead of thinking you'll be done and then not being satisfied with it and having to do another pass. Thanks for the explanation!
