Uh, this is something of a hiatus-breaker, I hope. I've honestly drawn a great bunch of stuff, but I haven't had the time to hang around here in FA. I've been swarmed with some commissions and this one national comic-drawing contest. I also spent some time in Lapland.
The wolf here looks retarded. I was just mainly experimenting with a more relaxed style of coloring. I only used two layers instead of my usual 40 and more.

Making mistakes is a part of making progress.
I love the effect of her pale colored eyes. I've always thought pale colored eyes were attractive. Both in an aesthetically pleasing sort of way, and in a way that spreads thoughts of the supernatural or the character retaining some sort of mystical allure about themselves.

Yeah, it's good to make mistakes. Whenever I draw for myself I always try to relax and have fun. To learn something new is a definite plus. :)
I'm really flattered about the compliment you gave on her eyes! The child appearing in this picture is actually a prodigious magic-user, almost of messianic proportions, I might say. I wanted her to have big soulful eyes that would seem perhaps a bit unnatural, like there was some sort of power inside her head.

It good for an experiment realy the wolf lost hes lower jaw that the point why it a bit retarded, but its aceptable when the artist try's to come up with something new. I personaly tried to ink with painter X, but I gave up after a hour since it didn't worked out and I was doing a commission to. So I can't screw that up. I think you know how is this we usualy don't start to experiment with the job. Meh like the girl I wish I could draw humans this well, so faves again. Hope you enjoy your time.
Lol, yeah. Seems I kinda forgot about the lower jaw. There's sort of a little line there indicating where the jawline ought to be, but the coloring doesn't follow it at all. x)
I spent more time on the girl because I liked her features. In the end I decided there would be little point in submitting nothing but one grumpy little girl, so I sketched the wolf in about five minutes with pencil, scanned it and slapped some color on it as well.
I think humans are very interesting and expressionate. I do like to draw them a lot although I must admit it's a lot easier to draw furries. Anthros don't have to look realistic because they're not real. We can only imagine how they would look.

Oh, that sounds super sweet! ^_^
What was that commission thing again? I think I might have a hunch, but sometimes I seriously have trouble remembering things I've talked about. I draw so many commissions... I do apologize, I know I'm sounding like a hidiot.
(A hidiot is a hideous idiot, just in case you're wondering.)

Oh yes, yes, of course! Sorry, I just had a major brainfart there. I guess I'm still a bit tired after my holiday. Isn't it weird how people can feel tired *after* coming home from a holiday? :)
I got your email and I'll send you a proper reply tonight after I've gotten over this one nasty test at the university.

Awh, I'm sorry! I'm babbling about it like mad because it's the first time I heard there's something like that going on in my country. For years I thought that my country doesn't support comickers at all... I know it's unfair, though, because a person of your caliber really should have the opportunity to use your skills in a contest.
I don't often have them all active simultaneously because I stamp and merge them a lot. But normally I use a lot more layers than I can count. It's probably not a very good thing, it's just that I still don't know what all the knobs and buttons in Photoshop do, so I try to play it safe whenever I can.
