Actually in Fire and Ice Hoek called Stork a Little Lizard when he found him in the cave. Whether he was just meaning to insult him or not. But of course to a Raptor calling Stork a Lizard would have been a complement so I assume that's what merbs are. ^.^ Just a thought.
