Just to show how much of a dragonfreak I was (and still am), here are some screenshots of a game I made back in 2001 using Macromedia Director for a multmedia project. Yes, a lot of my projects involves dragons. ^^
Called 'Dragon Hope', you played as one of five dragons (fire, water, earth, wind or normal dragons) saving a fantasy world by defeating five other evil dragons who are looking for the Dragon Hope, a special artifact that can RULE THE WORLD...before time runs out.
No, you don't want to play it unless you like stat-building, repetition and reading lots of corny text (I'm not a good writer). You pretty much have a certain amount of turns to finish the game. Each turn you can either explore the land for new places, train your dragon to increase stats, rest to replenish life, collect magical artifacts or fight a discovered evil dragon with a combat system like 'rock paper scissor' (except now its attack, defend, charge or magic).
I'm actually proud of it because it's a workable game and bug free (that was one month of playtesting) with only minor graphical glitches. And if the plain photoshop coloring (I had no concept of shading back then) hurts your eyes, sorry...
UPDATE : Head here if you are interested in downloading the game.

Large Storage Space shoulnd't be a problem nowadays. It can both easily be hosted at home (even though it's slower) or shared via P2P. I could probably arrange that.
So it's up to you digging it out and removing your rl data from it :)
But what about redoing it, with your new skills? Then you have a new project which perhaps gets you some motivation. This, I think, if it works, would be worth trying.
