Furnal Equinox 2016 - Recovery Room by SpiderDragon
The second sketch inspired by my Cancer shows me after I have woken up from the surgery. I am in my hospital room where I will spend the night, and my wife is visiting me, greatly relieved to hear that everything has gone well and to see her husband smiling and in good spirits. My wife was very scared the day of the surgery; I was unconscious the whole time but she had to wait the two+ hours before she learned everything went well. And then she had to wait another hour while I woke up and shed my grogginess before she could see me. Thankfully her mother (not pictured though she was there too) was with her to help her get through those hours.

spiderdragon did a fantastic job bringing this scene to life. I love how she captured the suggestion of the fur at my neck being shaved, something they would have to do in real life if we were actual Rat anthros. I did ask her if she would be willing to do this before the con, and so she had references for the IV and hospital bed, and a good thing too; she knocked them out of the park. Thank you, Lady Dragon!
