Here's how I imagine this playing out...
Gideon: You're a disgrace to foxes, city boy!
Nick: It's foxes like you that give us a bad name!
Judy: Be careful, Nick!
Just my thoughts. Very interesting picture by the way; makes you wonder how this scene would have played out if Judy and Nick had known each other in their childhoods.

Judy stands up to Gideon being a to her friends and stealing their tickets, Gideon beats up Judy in Retaliation for standing up to him hurting Judy and causing her to scream. Nick comes along.
