I've been training people since before Merlin, who was not one of mine, by the way. See any time someone with Power potential shows signs of Emergence they get assigned a Soul Mentor like me to help them out and show them the way so they don't do something historically stupid like sink an entire continent. (Take one day off and you never hear the end of it.)

I was next in line to get kicked out, I mean honoured with assignment on the mortal plane so when we detected the next Emergence, off I went. This go around I'm assigned to the daughter of a Nature Immortal. You know, that doesn't automatically make her a semi-immortal like everyone thinks. She does have the Power and the potential to wield it and now she has me! How lucky can one mortal get?

Yeah, yeah, so I'm six inches tall, I'm the brains not the brawn!

Oh right! That whole "Names have power." stuff? Totally legit. If you need to call me something you may call me "Solem."? It's a kind of bastardized mix of my job title: Soul Mentor.

So for the foreseeable future I'm assigned to Kimberly Foster.
