"Say, carrots. You remember the whole Nighthowler situation, right?"
"Of course. How would I forget that?"
"And that press conference, where you messed up."
"Ugh, yeah."
"Where you basically called any guy with teeth a dangerous savage"
"Nghiiiick."
"Got the whole city riled up, played right into little sheep's hands?"
"Okay, I get it. I messed up. Will I ever get to live that down?"
"Not on my watch, you're not."
"So did you have a point to make, or were you just happy to rub that one in again?"
"Well ... d'you remember what you said to me, just before you went up on that stage and smeared my family heritage in the dirt?"
"Yeah, I thought you'd make a great partner. That's why I handed you that form then."
"Funny you should mention that ... you see, I've been doing some thinking of my own and ... well ... ~"
The only real spoiler is that Nick's in uniform if you discount my little idea of a conversation.
Somehow I feel both of them are the kind of people who'd do even this on the job ;3 do we have re-entry vectors for that ship yet? No? Didn't think so ...

Remember - this is Nick Wilde.
He's probably got a pen and pencil set behind his back.
Under which is a ten carat (carrot?) diamond ring.
I love the reaction of the rest of the cops. Never, never try to sneak an engagement or wedding past a bunch of cops. Can't be done.
Judy looks like she expects Nick to dump a sno-cone down her back. Marvelous!
And Nick has no idea how much this is going to hurt.

Wouldn't mind seeing this in Zootopia 2. I mean, that would be the next logical step. Either they take a more difficult, in-depth look at the nature of racism, or they challenge the "we-are-totally-not-bigoted!" mantra of Zootopia with the next step of bispeciesism.
Also, love the background characters.

"And later on I said that you knew you love me? Then you replied with 'Do I?' Yeah I think it's time we turn that from a question to a definite affirmative!"
"I thought I already did, Nick."
"Well only half the world seemed convinced. The other half thought we were just being friendly towards each other. I'd like to clear up any remaining doubt if that's okay."

Heh. :D Did Nick mentioned that whole press conference fiasco to:
A. Just to make sure Judy will remember the exact moment where she said Nick would make a great partner?
B. To also lessen the nervousness the coming proposal is causing him by playfully teasing Judy about her past mistakes? After all, we need to remember Nick can feel fear, sadness or stress. He just doesn't show it up (most of the time anyway). :)

I saw Zootopia a couple of days ago and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Great movie with a great message and plenty of laughs and heart. I have made a point of not looking at much Zootopia fanart on here because I know I would mostly be mortified. But your artwork revolving around these two is the best! Even if its of a somewhat mature nature its done tastefully, which is more than what most people seem to be doing.
I also missed the ring box for a bit, so I was wondering what the guys in the background were all worked up about, but then I noticed and reacted the same

I did openly state I will not be drawing these two in any adult situations. The most I'll do is drop hints, if even that. I'm glad this decision finds followers aswell, since I know just about 80% of the fandom is here for the juices.
Well, Nick is trying to hide it after all ;3 I'm really hoping there's a sequel just to have this kind of scene in it

As much as I love all the Zootopia art flying around. Yours being right at the top of the list.
I'm gonna be honest and say I don't agree with... apparently every other fur in the world.
Nick and Judy work way WAY better as a cute buddy cop duo. The porn was inevitable, and hot most of the time. But the mushy full blown relationship just kills what they had in the film.
My 2 cents. Still love the art to no end. But I had to rant.

It's okay to rant. We all need that from time to time.
Honestly, I think the romance is there in the film even and considering Howard and Moore apparently ship these two aswell, that last line Judy drops, just the way she says it, really pushes on the border, even if it is set in their buddy cop playfield ... but again, that's just me ^^
I still enjoyed the movie for what it was and while I ship this all the way, whether or not the relationship is romantic doesn't give or take anything from the movie, as far as I'm concerned.

Well, for a movie that made 750Mill worldwide (and countinng) that cost 150mill - and its a disney movie - we're guaranteed a sequel.
Does make me wonder what 'topic' they'll broach in the sequel though. If the first one was about prejudice, what kind of topic could be tackled next?

Yeah, I'm actually a little worried about that. I 'almost' hope they don't try to do another aesop and just do character development, for fear it might become preachy if they don't manage to walk that thin line again ... but hey, gotta have faith, right?
However; there's lots of opportunities. Non traditional partnerships, social inequality, personal responsibility ... depending on the story they pick, there's still thousands of topics they can address

well, if we look at Disney's past sequels... I think aside from Lion King 2, Mulan 2, Toy Story 2 and 3 and of course Rescuers: Down Under...
still, 2 of those were with anthro characters
And I wouldn't mind another aesop - we are talking disney after all
What worries me more is that disney sequels follow the logic of merch: You have to introduce new characters - even if you're keeping most of the original main cast, you need new characters
For a Zootopia sequel this would play out in a variety of ways:
1) a vanilla sequel - where we just get to see Nick and Judy working together, solving crime. Perhaps something in Nick's past comes up, him having hustled the mammal or something (beyond the godfather, but they're friends now) - like Rescuers Down Under
2) a lion king 2 style one - where its their kids who take center stage. Considering that we didn't see a single hybrid animal in the movie, then... well... if the original movie was about prejudice between group A and B, could a sequel be about the 'merger' of the two? Like, a movie trying to address multiculturalism. The metaphors write themselves: The son or daughter of a predator and prey animal? Sure there are omnivores already in the setting, sort of, but I think bears and wolves and maybe even boars count more as pure predators than prey animals.
Could be an interest plot - Nick, Judy and junior having to learn to deal with the kind of prejudice that comes from the "I don't mind them living down the road, but race/culture-mixing?"
heck, just make the kid a mix of the two's height - too tall to fit into the rabbit houses, and too small to fit into the fox-sized houses. Could be worked as a good metaphor for not fitting into either culture

I don't mind another aesop either, but they have to be really, really careful with it is all I'm saying ;3
As for new characters; Howard and Moore did state that, if they make a sequel, they want to bring Finnick back and do more with him as a character. Also, new characters doesn't have to be a bad thing, if they're written right.
Your sequel ideas I'm tending more towards option 1. Unless it's an adoptee, there's not a whole lot of sense for Nick and Judy to have a child together, since that would essentially mean mix and mingle is possible and throws out any room for prejudice like what we saw in Zoot.
However, their partnership, whether professional or personal, does offer an opportunity for more insights into the sociopolicital underpinnings of the society. Is it fine for the two of them to work together the way they do? Does everyone see it that way? Is it fine for them to be partners/lovers? ... would they be allowed to adopt a child, if that's what they wanted? - and these are the aesops where you have to start being very careful about your writing, lest you bring out a message-hammer and start wailing it in peoples' faces X3

true
A movie only about how a society like that would react to an inter-species relationship could be all that's needed for an interesting plot
Prejudice in the first one - acceptance of diversity and the mixing of cultures in the second.
Heck, in the original movie idea where Nick had a kitbashed theme park for predators play rough in - you could bring that back in the sequel. Not for Nick to work in, but as a place to express "predator culture"
Judy could be freaked out at the sight of predators expressing aggression and, I dunno - hunting fish and large bugs? I dunno - but if the theme was accepting a mixing of cultures, then it could be an interesting part of the setting

Yeah, absolutely. ^^ And as you say it brings a lot to the picture. If it was just Judy and Nick it would be really fun and sweet, but having the background context of all their colleagues there reacting to what's about to happen just gives it that much more life and depth.
Ah, yes, leave it to us furries to ship characters from a childrens movie that tries to fight gender stereotypes into casual couples, married couples, homosexual lovers, incestual pairs and all the other sorts of sexual connections, more and less disturbing xD
Still, nice artwork :3c

I really love this picture. I love the little details, and honestly the subtlety of the box (and the dialogue that goes with it) really make it. You have to notice the details in order to get the full impact.
That said, I'm... actually not in favor of this ship, if only for the fact that the world needs more examples of platonic male/female relationships. I've heard conflicting reports about word from the creators saying they started a relationship and they didn't, and there's definitely enough to ship them to hell and back. Still, hoping that they don't.
Seriously, though, this picture is great as-is and I hope it takes place well into the future, heh.

Heh, I'm glad my work appeals on the subtlety levels, even if I might have been a little too subtle with the box X3 I sort of feel the picture would be incomplete without the little dialogue though.
Concerning the shipping; I can do with either. I'm very supportive of it and I'd certainly squeal in a very unmanly way if a potential sequel has something like this in it, but if they didn't end up together and just stay best buddies, I feel the characters have enough weight to them to carry without ... that and there's always us shippers X3
As for the future; well, if you go by average law enforcement training, Nick spent two years at the academy. Considering Nick's age and experience, I'd like to think he's been in a relationship or two and knows to wait longer than only a few months before springing this particular kind of question on someone ;b

I can just picture Bongo's reaction to this.
"So I gotta few announcements, FIRST We have to acknowledge the Elephant in the room.....Shes moving up to the ranks to detective. Well done, but that is tomorrow, your still mine till then.
Second, we got our first partner pairing up, Nick, Judy......Traffic duty"
*Both Nick and Judy look shocked*
"Gives you two more time to shop around, I have a Plus one and will take the salad GOT THAT!"

I've seen shit written for this proposal thing a million times before and after sooo much trial and error gentle men, we finally done it, we finally have our winner, perfectly written, executed, and characterized by the movies standards, all he has to do is follow up with the pen just in case she need something to write with out sheer speechlessness and then we'd have our undeniable winner.
good job, and to all of you who tried.

your very welcome, see the problem I've had is when people are doing it, they usually have nick nervous, in a secret location away from public eyes, or just plain emotional, he feels completely out of character when they do it, but here? it hits a certain finesse, like nick thought about this, a lot, that he is confident but not cocky, smart but not nervous, and definitely NOT overly emotional ending in a sappy "i love you" kiss, it starts where it needs to, ends where it need to, and leaves the rest up to the readers imagination.
so yeah, unlike hippy worshippers from fanfic.net, I think you actually earned a "good job" praise

To be fair to the hippy worshipers, such as myself, Nick is actually a very emotional character. You can see it in multiple parts of the movie, particularly when he is hurt. He just wears a mask, like a lot of hustlers do.
That being said, I do love this piece, too. "It's called a proposal, sweetheart." *Snicker*
