I started this a few months ago when I had a random dream about a red wolf who strangely was totally not concerned when I told him that his species was slowly going extinct. He was a cheerful fellow! I went with an even messier style than usual, and also made this as a sort of companion piece to the solar eclipse coyote I uploaded a year ago (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/15446916/)
