This shot is before the series begins, when Captain Skylar Prescott was given an assignment she was hand picked for by Admiral Kathris Reinhardt. Going with her for the ride are her dutiful husband Aaron, who is killed early on in the mission, and their son Willis, a very intelligent child prodigy with a particular focus on temporal mechanics and future history.
