Born into a busy, but well-off household in Tokyo, Jade's rebellious and free-spirited nature emerged early in her life, thanks to an American education in a private school and a pre-school education in one of Japan's only daycare dojos. Throughout her youth she became increasingly rebellious toward her parents, especially because of her easygoing nature, her disregard for diplomacy, her sexuality, and a feeling of hypocrisy between what her parents wanted to teach her versus what they did for a living.

With nearly flawless English skills, rapierlike wit, and the sneaky intuition of a ninja, "kitsune" Jade is a sometimes frustrating but always instrumental part of the Jewel Vixens team.
