Here is another rare work of 'fat furry' art I'd drawn a long, long time ago - only to rediscover it again, when I'd recently came upon it while 'Spring Cleaning'...
Back in the 1980s and 1990s, one of my favorite syndicated comic strips was "The Far Side" by Gary Larson - a daily dose of 'one-shot gags' I get my jollies from...
Once in a while, Gary draws a gag with a fattened animal in it (from a mosquito to a cat). One of my favorite strips had three bears in it - the fattest of the threesome (with a protruding belly) on the left side of the panel. And the caption below simply read: "Impolite as they were, the other bears could never help staring at Larry's enormous deer gut."
I liked that gag so much, I had to render a piece of 'fan art' with Larry, paired up with my bobcat 'fursona'. The only thing I like more than seeing a 'fat furry' character (bulging in all directions) is seeing said character in an unusual situation (like getting stuck in a doorway or window). Considering how embarrassed Larry feels, Rob Cat tries to help out the oversized ursine, by having him wear a girdle to make him look thinner; but all this accomplishes is transferring that blubber to other areas of his body!
Enjoy this 'blast from my past'!
You can look for the 'deer gut' gag from "The Far Side" on the Internet, here is one sample link from the "24-Hour Campfire" website (in which you'll have to scroll down to look for it): http://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbth.....98/Re_Far_Side
