A car like this, was my trusty steed during the cold response 2016. I was the gunner (sitting on the left front seat).
As you might can imagine, it was quite cold sitting there. But then again all of us were freezing. Although the gunner had it a bit better than me and the spotter sitting in the back.

We had those for quite some years before the Mercedes. I have never been in a landrover defender, so I cant argue, but all I can say is that this was a fine ride with no mechanical problems (at least from the car) and the places where we got stuck in the snow... well... lets just say we got cocky and tried to follow a tank track and that didn't go to well when our driver slipped outside of it XD oh well a farmer had his fun getting us free and were more than happy for the little thank you gift of field ration (pretty much the only thing we could offer)
