And the ex-nuke bat is pounding his head against the wall over that nuclear reactor design... but a fun read naetheless. (Seriously? You do not EVER dump cold water into a reactor core, even if it's been scrammed. That's how the idiots at Fukushima broke three cores... you cool them by letting water boil off.)
It's not that easy to find accurate data, I'm afraid. A good deal of it is still classified - and that includes a lot of the details -I- know. But that one I can mention. Cold Water Injection Casualties are a Very Bad Thing. Our plants are better fail-safed than that one, but if they're accustomed to counting on superheroes to save their butts, they might get sloppy.
Great chapter. Just one thing about the nuclear reactor bit: I'm no expert, but I don't think removing the control rods is the right way to stop a nuclear chain reaction. From what i know if the subject, the proper thing to do would have been to insert them, as that would cause the reaction to slow down and, eventually, stop. Then water (or whatever coolant the reactor uses) would be circulated through the reactor chamber to cool the reactor pile.
I could, of course, be completely wrong about that, and if I am, I hope someone corrects me.

Actually, you're right in needing to insert the control rods to slow down the nuclear reactions. Then once the reactor being slowly brought under control, get the pumps working again in order to cool the system further down to safe limits.
If you watch an old James Bond film, Dr. No, Bond pushes in the reactor rods, which caused the reactor to go critical. Completely nonsense in fact.

This was a great story my friend. Enjoyed this chapter just like the rest. Loved all the cameos from all the other heroes. That was very cool. Felt bad for the Star, as he took all that radiation and save the day so the cooling rods could work. But the fact he went through that regardless...yeowch! Also, love how Ranger, and even Morning Star, now are after him to join the BOS. Also, Sandstalker coming up eh? This should prove delightful. Lol.
