Never got any odd comments, but we did get a few complements of how silly and entertaining it was to see a couple like us wandering around! Had been sort of expecting to bump into other furs somewhere along the travels too but we never did. Guess it was because we were traveling early and the flood of critters making their way towards California didn't happen until the following day. :o

They may take a swab of it. My carry on items always get swabbed. Its just a routine thing. I'm sure they'd understand that you'd rather take a $1500-$2500 mascot head as carry on instead of leaving it to luggage crew to handle.

True, cause I will not like my suit head(s) to get lost and have to fight the airlines for money to replace it...

I've always checked my suit, never had a problem yet. Plus I get luggage insurance incase it does get lost, I'm reimbursed.

I've yet to hear of someone denied boarding because of something like that. After scanning it, swabbing it etc, would that be proof enough to show its legit?

Not really, they've looked in my bag before and seen my suit. they're not gonna take away a $2500 mascot costume unless your smuggling drugs or some crap in it.

Mostly depends on where I guess. I know some airports, like in the UK, they're complete dicks about things like that.

Hell yeah, show that fur off proudly, but I still think the tail would have helped add some more personality to it.
