Well, now that things are returning back to normal here at home, I can go back to uploading my work. This is probably the closest thing to a controversial character I'll ever create. This is Kai Zhang, a male Kangaskhan. I know, they're only female in the game, but that really frustrates me, because Kangaskhan doesn't have a male counterpart. Miltank has Tauros, the Nidorans have each other, Mothim has Wormadam. Kangaskhan's got nothing! And so, I welcome this rebellion against Nintendo's rules.

A note about the thumbnail: I didn't make it at all. It is a profile shot of a much larger picture of the male Kangaskhan that I actually based Kai off of appearance-wise (this one was made way back in the day before the gender situation was made). I don't remember the artist who drew this, as it's been many years since I first found it and saved it to my computer. If anyone out there knows who the artist is, please let me know so I can give them proper credit. Thanks!

Emotional Description:

Kai was a medical marvel. The only known male Kangaskhan in existence, he grew up as an average kid living an average life. He had a loving family, lots of friends, did good in school. Everything was perfect for him, until a tragic day when his parents were killed. He was devastated, but he knew that his baby sister, Xiao, was his responsibility now. He raised her on his own off of the streets, and life went on inch by inch for the siblings, until Kai’s 14th birthday, when his younger sister was raped and murdered in a back-alley not far from where they stayed. Devastated, Kai turned completely mute, and saved up enough money that winter for a train ticket to Viridian City, where he enrolled in KMS that fall, in hopes of leaving the past behind him.

As he has not spoken a single word to anyone at the school, the depths of his personality are a mystery. On the surface, though, he always holds a somber expression. He is prone to sighing constantly and staring through vacant windows, and tends to walk very slowly through the halls, dragging his feet to take the next step.
