Continuing my first "Throwback Thursday" of April, 2016, I have yet another 'photo-op' (taken with the digital camera portion of my brother Glenn's smartphone) from Sawgrass Recreational Park in the Everglades portion of south Florida...
Among the big cats in captivity at the park are a pair of Florida panthers - one male and one female - kept together in the same caged enclosure. On the day we'd visited them, the male was busy pacing back and forth on his side of the cage, while the female was resting and trying to dry her paws (having in several wet puddles) on her side of said cage. Glenn took a picture of the latter cat.
Had I'd brought my own camera, I would've had the patience to wait until I got a decent shot of the two cats together... and the only time THAT occurred was when the female stepped into the male's territory, crouched down, and attempted to pounce on him (when he paced in her direction). Still, a 'photo-op' of one big cat is better than none!
I hope to post some more snapshots of fauna from Sawgrass Recreational Park in the near future.
