Exactly one year ago today (considering it's still April 7th in California), I went on a storm chase I wouldn't forget. Being a huge weather enthusiast all my life, I've only ever dreamed of storm chasing as I grew up, especially one that produced a tornado. So, as the National Weather Service issued a marginal risk for severe thunderstorms in the central valley parts of California, alongside with a 2% chance of a tornado within a fifty mile radius, me and a friend headed out east to get to these storm as they started to fire up. Upon arrival, these isolated thunderstorms reached severe status, and the structure was absolutely mind blowing. About thirty minutes after reaching these storms, a funnel started to spin down, reportedly touching the ground a few times for a short amount of time, before dissipating back into the mess of the wall cloud. Seriously, one of the most amazing things I've ever witnessed. Just hoping 2016 will prove to be more spectacular.
