Ian loves combat and has a tendency to provoke people if he thinks he can get a fight out of it, but is otherwise generally an easy-going guy. He lives with his stepmother (Narissa's mother) who is in Clan Nact'Larn, and his father and half-sister, who are in Taun Clan like himself. He has never defeated either of his sisters in combat, much to his embarrassment. Ian's own mother was a Being, who knew his father was a Cubi before she got pregnant, and who Ian tended to loyally in her last days. She is considered an honored family member, with a small shrine in her memory kept in the home's study, being the tradition of her native culture. He lives in a Cubi-friendly city and loves to spend time with (and, of course, fight) members of his race from out of town.
