A drawing of a Bloodborne-like-dressing character I play as in my brother's homebrew RPG. He's a quesar, one of his races, and a pretty apt bloodmage. The stats, being homebrew, are still kind of wonky and more often than not he ends up nuking whatever he's fighting (unless RNGesus decides, because it's such an important roll, to totally screw him over).
While he's totally capable of nuking things' minds, he much prefers to read up on lore books, accidentally give bloody noses to small cat-like beings he can't seem to ever detect with his very bad perception, and people watch. With his laser-guided amnesia, he can't seem to recall anything before he woke up shipwrecked in the town he currently mulls about. Everyone remarks to him that he's not very mage-like, always wonders about the origins of his strange markings (hence the hat and scarf), and usually leg it if he shows anyone the odd sigil that seems to be not of wordly origin that adorns his shoulder.

Awesome art, as usual, though I find the lack of false eyes a bit off :p Bloodborne is such a messed up universe, most likely the worst of all the From Software games, in my opinion!
But man, I've thought about homebrewing the game many, many times. It all depends on your system, and it's always trial and error. At least the bloodtinge (I think?) guy can be totally wrecked by a poor roll, to make up for the intense power. Sounds like a great time, hahah.

Thanks! I never played Bloodborne and don't know anything about it, aside from generally long coats, cool hats and scarfs are in, haha.
It's good fun! I like that he's using his imagination; whether or not things are balanced (getting one-shot by someone's military pick felt like this https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u.....s/gifs/GBE.gif ) is kind of whatever. I've made a couple different homebrew RPGs based off various universes of mine (that's usually how they start!) and nothing is ever really super balanced, or interesting. I find actual balancing isn't that hard, but making it interesting is far harder. For instance, if you just stick to some simple sliding scale for everything, balance isn't too hard to figure out, but that's pretty boring.

a strong lead who knows what they wants makes a whole hellluvalot of difference. also these games are his babies. he knows what he wants from them and how to allocate resources towards them too get it. i feel like to people that were given II were competent enough in their own right because it's not all shit, i really like the experimentation with the combat system, for instance. however they spend much of their time scratching their heads going HOW TO MAKE SOULS? they don't 'get it' until they make the DLC.
all in all i think one of the reasons Demon's Souls and Dark Souls are so great is that fromsoft was practically broke when they made those games. when you have very little funds and resources you have to be more picky with what you spend your time on. i think restrictions like that ultimately lead to a better product because you see it in other companies(why people sat morrowind is better than skyrim for instance).

I agree, but I seem to be very bad at it haha. About 5 hours in and I finally just got through the entire first wall area. I went back to Hyper Light Drifter to finish collecting things / beat that game for a breather. From the little I am able to see though, it's exactly what I wanted; Dark Souls 1 but nicer-looking and with more content.
