Continuing with a special 'photo-op' presentation (usually seen on "Throwback Thursdays"), here is the second of three pictures taken at Tate's Comics in Lauderhill, Florida on April 2, 2016 - when the comic emporium began its 23rd Anniversary Sale...
Naturally, I went to Tate's to get a great deal of discounted bargains... and I wasn't disappointed at all!
For example, inside the store - where all new merchandise was 10% off - I'd managed to buy (among other wares) a hardcover copy of "Blacksad: A Silent Hell" (an English-translated graphic novel from Dark Horse Comics), a couple of "Zootopia" mystery-mini vinyl figures (one of 'Mayor Lionheart', and one of 'Judy Hopps'), a 'Rocket Raccoon' button, and a bottle opener shaped like a beaver (by Kikkerland).
Going outside to the tent - where the bargains are even bigger - I'd decided to refrain from buying old comic books (as I'd done at past Anniversary Sales), and just look through the tubs and bins for a deal on any packaged action figures and other toys. But the only thing I'd found that caught my eye (and my interest) was a bank in the shape of "Guardians of the Galaxy" character 'Rovket Raccoon'...
I'd told a store associate which bin I'd found the bank in, and asked her how much it was going for. When she'd told me the price, my mind was blown, and I just had to have it! (To cut to the chase, said bank - in its original packaging - sold for $24.99 US. But for this one special sale, I got the 'Rocket Raccoon' bank - without the packaging - for just one buck!!)
During all this time, a digital photographer was taking pictures of the Tate's Comic Staff and its loyal customers. So, it came as no surprise that I (standing there, wide-eyed and agog) had to show off the spoils of my big shopping adventure to said photographer!
