Excerpt from the Siren Star setting:
The Saphiri reside on the blue aquatic planet of Saphir. Led by the impeccable will of the Concience, their ordered and tranquil society thrives in their vast ocean-cities. They after the cataclysm that befell their kind at the end of the Golden Age, the weakened Saphis took to the stars to find allies and secure themselves against external threats. They joined the fledgling Coalition, and have since been staunch allies, sharing their knowledge and abilities to protect both themselves and their fellows. Being more alien members of the Coalition, the Saphis appear as blue-skinned humanoids. In place of hair they have a mass of tendrils, their eyes are glistening black orbs, and their teeth needle points. They possess anywhere from one to three long, sinewy tails and seem to have no nails on either hand or foot. They are amphibious, hermaphroditic and in incredible control of their physiology. They can change their own gender at will, though since their alliance with other races they have begun to teach and adopt gender-identities at an early age. Some have been observed to have further abilities, including being able to relocate and strengthen physical properties, spawning additional tendrils from any point of their body and copying others' DNA and appearance for a short while.
