Digital painting - Basics.
They're going though some properties of form. Right after this, we'll be working on the development our final painting project, which is basically to paint a house/structure in a scene as we go through thr lessons of properties of form and basic perspective.

It's probably the black-and-white, a lone object sticking out of the darkness, that gives it the 'sad/emotional' feeling. Like when you see someone just sort of staring into the void.

All a matter of perspective. You can think of it as empty and hollow, which can be depressing. Or, you can interpret it as a new beginning - a foundation or framework for future possibility. Then it exudes hope - which may be why it's the only thing illuminated in your picture. :]

Super realistic! I just got thru with my 2D art classes at school. Now I'm doing 3D art. I can say, I've never done anything like this when learning 2D! Did some cubes and spheres, but never a shape like this lol
After shapes, it was straight onto observational drawing with stuff around the school like art stools, a random wooden pony, chairs, all that. This was all traditional too. Didn't get into photoshop until my 2nd quarter. 1st quarter was traditional art with some gen ed's.

Well, neither did mine xD We're also just drawing some simple real-life objects like some matte cube or other forms like that. I got into Photoshop during my 2nd year in college, pretty late xD

No, I don't do any vector art lol. It's painted in Photoshop using brush, nothing 3D.

It took around 2 days to complete. 1 day, if without all the mental illness xD
