Wow, what a difference being hyped makes when doing ambitious art.. I normally lose motivation about halfway through, but this one- I was like "oh, done already? dang." I also did it in record time..Though it's likely one of my most ambitious drawings in years... Perspective/Foreshortening is one of my weak points, so.. gotta do it more.
Ok, little info.. Val's race are called "Grievers" which is slang used by races they have conquered, due to their habit/reputation of micro-managing and nearly slave-driving conquered nations. This nickname has spread throughout the galaxies and so they are generally disliked before they even say hi to new systems.
Their empire is called Bal'Valur, and it has a reputation of being highly aggressive martially and diplomatically. Prowess in your chosen profession is one of the highest honours anyone can achieve in the empire, whether you're a master sniper or master chef, deadly efficiency is expected and rewarded. Anyone can be anything, but you're expected to be good at it.
Traditionally, the Seat of the Empire (their political/military leader) is held by men, while the Seat of the Soul (their spiritual leader) is held by women. There have been a few exceptions throughout history. Aside from important positions of power, gender plays little role in their society as it can be hard to pin what any individual might be, as members of their species are commonly born with odd chromosomes and it generally comes down to whatever they choose to present themselves as.

I'm not even sure I have words for this one. It's. Too amazing.
The armor detail. That background [srs teach me to draw ships, man]. The pose, and even the perspective came out beautifully. And then throw the song in there, and it feels like I'm really looking into another world.

I don't know anything about either, sadly. I feel so left out. It's a tragedy. A friend of mine has been playing warhammer recently and told me about their spaceships. And I made a toon on swtor the other day to play with a friend, but that's the extent of my time in the fandoms.
Holy shit that dude is fucking hot, I ain't gonna play. Also as I said on his ref, the armor is hella storm trooper inspired! Can't really speak for other similarities you might see, I just draw what I draw and have for years. Older men with grey hair isn't new to my galleries. ROFL ^^
Woah, seriously? Talk about weird coincidences. O_O That's really great. I only just got into Swtor about two days ago with a friend, but that is also a funny coincidence in itself as I've never once touched the Star Wars fandom until then! I had no idea, I just bloody love storm troopers! xD
