start out with someone who will willingly model for you (i was working off of unsuspecting moving people and it's quite a bit harder) ask them to hold a pose for 2 minutes. [hold your pencil "upside down" (if you're right handed face your palm away from you and face the tip of the pencil to the left when you hold it) and just try to scribble the inside mass of the body. the space that it takes up. if you have any more time THEN add detail, but that's not as important at the moment.] do about 3-4 of those. then shorten that to 1 minute, do a few more. shorten to 30 seconds, a few more. once you can get to the point where you can make an approximate representation of the body's position and where it's carrying the weight really quickly, go out in public and look for people sitting down. let the hunt begin! >:3
yay wall of text! \o/

o_o; I doubt I could get anyone to model for me, besides I'm too shy to ask >_< drawing moving people is something I could try though, since I tend to draw my classmates (mocking pictures lol) when they walk around.
and modeling can be quite a pain ^^; I tried it once myself, sat still for 4 hours =_=;; xD hurts
thanks for the advice though, gonna try it out tomorrow during arts class o.o
