And they were off! As the counter reached green, everyone had reached the starting line where they ran on foot to, mounting on their boards, and letting loose. Wave had taken an early lead, with Tails hot on her tracks. Tsunami wasn't too far behind, and Blur was mixed in with a bunch of other racers. But it wasn't long before she began to creep up the field.

Tails had made his way up to where Wave was seemingly dominating the race, and in an attempt to pass her, she was quick to cut him off. He didn't let up though; every opportunity he had to pass her, he attempted to. Tsunami, whom was gaining some ground on the two would threaten to take the lead, had either of them mess up. They had already completed one round around the track, and were int he middle of the second one when the crowd of racers began to dominate the track in their own way. Wave began to get in a one-sided pushing contest with Tails every time he got close, while Blur managed to slip by Tsu in a hard corner.

"Out of my way, Shortie!" Wave yelled at Tails as she shoved him hard away from her. He lost balanced long enough to lag behind, and careen into an unsuspecting Blur, bouncing the two of them behind, as Tsu sped up to where Wave was.
