The evening before performing this song, I got a call from my close friend David Kaffinetti, who as you Spinal Tap fans would remember was the band's keyboardist under the name Viv Savage for the movie "This Is Spinal Tap". David still performs this song among other Spinal Tap classics as the keyboardist in a group known as "Viv and the Savages", a sort of reflection off his character in Spinal Tap during their jazz/blues phase after Nigel Tufnel angrily left the band. The night he mentioned his "Viv and the Savages" idea to me on the phone, I immediately expressed interest in hearing how I would be able to throw together a live rendition of "Big Bottom", one of the songs he mentioned he was planning on putting a jazz/blues twist on when he performs it. This song was sung as true to the original as possible, with a little "SonicBlu" touch for enhancement to give it a little spice. Here is the finished result.
