Some colorconcepts of my 4 giant extinct-species characters.
Ixe - Phorusrhacos or titanis. giant raptor-like terror bird.
Zultan - Megatherium (giant 20+ foot tall ground sloth)
Spessartine - Columbian mammoth
And last my nameless hyaenodon gigas. (rhino sized prehistoric predator).
Zultan is my biggest, strongest character, Practically indestructable due to their bulk, foot long claws, and the fact they had thick bone-laced armorplated skin that claws and arrows couldn't get through. Ixe is rather lightweight, yet very fast and deadly. Terrorbirds are tied with horned owls as my top avian. It was a 10+ foot tall bird that practically re-evolved into a velociraptor, complete with handlike tackling claws on the wing, and a slashing toe on the foot. The mammoth is always fun, though I drew her tusks too small. Plus some people wanted to see her and that hyaenodon again anyway, so here you go. And no, hyaenodon is NOT related to hyenas at all. :]

I've always liked giant sloths (that one in the video has junk in the trunk). I love your critter versions, especially the sloth. Super-amazing!
As for the bird, well, Harryhausen did it best, of course: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LKoW.....eature=related (it starts at about 5:50)

Wow. Those are awesome interpretations of some really cool creatures.
As for Terror birds ... We might not have them around, but we have their distant cousin, complete with sickle claws: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seriema

Titanis = Instant fave! one of my greatest fascinations slash obsessions... the idea of "re-evolved Raptors" is absolutely incredible... have you heard the somwhat compelling argument that some species of terror bird may have lived far longer than their ancestors and had interactions with early humans? just imagine running into one of those guys on the hunt! X3
I believe credence to the theory weighs heavily on some fossil evidence found in North America. ^v^
