Finally read it. A very good peice of work. "You can talk?' lol, good line. But I do have to point something out: The beginning seemed to drag. A friend of mine, Jethrokim, told me about the differences between "telling" and "showing" in a story. I don't fully understnad what he ment, but I think I'm getting the hang of it. I think you have the same problem.
Besides that, it's a good story. I like Rufus. He's cool.

The first part may have seemed to drag because I wanted to really introduce the two children, Joshua and Emily, since this first story is more about them than about the animals. When we get to the second story, it'll be more about Buko, Rufus and Kronk. And from then on, it'll be more about a series of adventures and life experiences.
I actually rather enjoy this story, Benny. A story about two kids that move into a city from the countryside and get into a world of imagination with talking anthro animals in an adventure, with the use of a book? That seems rather interesting.
I especially felt sad for poor Emily when Kronk told his frightening story, which made her feel scared and uncomfortable. The reason is because well, we all felt that way when we were young. But in the end though, she gained courage as her and Joshua were the only two human children.
I do love seeing the animals in support of the kids and how they can be together whenever they desire, and I can imagine more adventures to come in the future.

The way that Joshua and Emily were sucked into that rainbow book reminded me of this: https://youtu.be/poZ3Zc8oJTg?si=WP_.....DZoly&t=55
