With fursuit making comes lots and lots of foam scraps! Instead of throwing them away and going to a landfill, we recycle our foam!
We have a great relationship with our foam supplier, we simply collect all our foam scraps and take them in. The supplier then turns our scraps into the foam padding that is installed under carpets! Instead of going in the garbage, our foam is made into useful home building supplies!
On the right is our bag of foam scraps, and on the left is the padding it is made into!
This is simply something we wanted to share, as we love that our foam scraps get recycled and made into something useful. =D

I'm very enthusiastic about recycling and I love that you're doing this. Expanded foam like this takes up a large volume in landfill since it isn't easily compactable yet is mostly composed of air. To see it getting a second life in this way is a great thing. Thank you for doing this and I hope you encourage other suit makers to do the same! I'm looking into if there's similar programs in Australia so I can tell local makers I know about it!
