Even though he could easily fly up and grab the mouse, Skyra prefers to wait patiently for his victim to tire under the relentless drain of gravity until it can do nothing but suffer the humiliation of relinquishing itself of its own accord.
Yes, I finally found some time to squeeze out some new work! Hurrah!!
I'm not a particularly keen vorephile, especially not soft vore, but I do dabble in it occasionally when the mood takes me. It did recently, combined with an uncontrollable urge to draw some new Skyra art. Hence, this new two-page comic is the result.
One big mistake I made with this comic - that was to go mental with detail on the first panel then realise that doing so would mean having to go to the same level of detail on every other panel. Fortunately however my motivation didn't die out and I was able to finish all of it to a high standard. I should note however that the first panel was done differently to the rest; this was the only panel to be created using my old "draw and photograph" method, whilst all the others were given the benefit of my new scanner (which I'm delighted with, by the way).
On a pointless side note, my subconscious must have a sick sense of humour. Seeing as I create most of my art either when I'm alone in the house or at night, it usually means things are pretty quiet around me. Some of the processes of digital art (e.g. blending) aren't particularly interesting and one's mind can easily wander. Mine often fills the silence by coming up with songs which I then end up singing to myself over and over until I start doing something more interesting. I couldn't help but notice however on this occasion that as I was colouring this comic, several times I realised how some of the lyrics I was singing were rather hideously appropriate, such as 'Lyla' by Oasis ("catch me if I fall"), or 'Rain King' by Counting Crows ("in the belly of a black-winged bird") etc. etc...!
Anyway, enough of the silliness. For those of you into this type of thing, hope you enjoy the comic!

They all suffer from this to some extent (also in the first picture in the series), but yeah, panel 4 suffers the most. Are you taking pencils and jacking up the contrast? I figure just playing around a little with the linework layer might help things, either way... And if you ARE doing contrast-upped pencils as the linework, I think things might look better if you just skipped the contrastwork :)
I don't use a linework layer, actually. The lines and the base colours are all on the same one. To be honest, I don't know how you can skip the contrast stage without the lines being too messy or taking inordinate amounts of effort to fix it (which I'm not particularly motivated to do). I always blank out the paper texture and pencil/pen lines to pure black on white with contrasting, then do a live trace in Illustrator. They don't look that bad though, do they?
Oh, it's not TERRIBLY distracting, but it's something that's worth improving, and easy to improve :) I mean... At least if you use a separate linework layer.
Usually with my pencilwork, I jack up the brightness first in order to make the not-completely-white paper completely white, and then do a bit of gamma correction (in Paint Shop Pro) to make the lines blacker, though not completely black. Then I alter the properties of that layer to "Multiply", and color in a separate layer underneath. Means you don't have to worry about the lines being perfectly smudgeless when you color. Makes it easier to do minor alterations to the lines and such, too.

Such a delightful conclusion to the first part. I'll repeat once again... such a lucky mouse. :)
Wonderful composition for each of the frames showing the sequence of events. The eagle's tongue work came out magnificent, as well as its satisfied expression. Rubbing the bulge in his neck as he swallows, is a particularly delightful touch, as is the licking of his beak in the final frame. Once again, the colors and detail are magnificent. Beautiful job.

No chance for that mouse, and Skyra looks as proud as can be. X3 "Gravity" works on so many levels here...Skyra knows the gravity of the situation, mouse is pulled along (even in the after-comic processes) by gravity, and Skyra looks as if the entire word gravitates around him with that sort of pride.
Do you feel that your art is a hobby, or a passion? The amount of detail, time, and work you place into your pieces suggests passion, but it never hurts to ask.

Firstly, thanks a lot for the comments (on both pages). Very much appreciated, and I find it interesting that you have read into the 'Gravity' theme in so much depth - I must admit even I didn't really appreciate some of those levels, though it's definitely a bonus if it can be interpreted in such a way..
Secondly, my art is a mixture of things really, but I think 'obsession' is more accurate than passion. At times it really drives me spare, and I really haven't enjoyed it like I once did for a long time now. But I am obsessive about getting pieces to look the best that I can be motivated to make them.
Thanks very much again.
