Walking up a gentle, grassy slope in Southern England, enjoying the wonderful weather and the distant sound of the sea. A sudden halt short of a sheer drop into the English Channel. Take it from me, and take care out there!

I've returned from a week's holiday in the Isle of Wight, and on the way there, we stopped at the Swanage Heritage Railway in Dorset. Though it was a challenge to pull myself away from the trains, I was glad to have an hour or so wandering around the small seaside village of Swanage. These places really provide a sense of nostalgia for me, as they remind me of those childhood holidays by the sea, that I imagine every British person has been on at least once. The body of water you can see is the western opening of the Solent, a channel that runs between southern England and the Isle of Wight.
