Welcome to the Oak and Three-stars. Noticed you arrived on horse and looked a tad parched, so I figured you could use a drink. It is on the house. If in exchange you let me hear news from the world, that is.
A magnificent commission I got from Karoliina Hankonen over at DeviantArt. Do go and give her your love.

Baracca "Bracca" Garghan. Owner of the Oak and Three-stars inn, located in a remote town somewhere Middle to North-East upon the continent of Faradas. Second son of Vergal Garghan, who in turn is known by many names such the Purple Lord, Lord of Storms and the Lord of the Island. So it would only be fitting that Baracca here would call himself Lord of the Inn at the very least.
Alas, that is not who Baracca, who his friends and relatives call fondly as Bracca, wants to be. Not after seeing how power can corrupt and how even the most noble of lords can be brought to their knees. Not after having to leave his mother and brother behind as he escaped from his father so many years ago. A father who returned from another world as a changed man, took over the minds of many - including Bracca's brother, Slergh, - and then planned to do the very same for Bracca as well to secure his dominance.
Thus Bracca became a prince in voluntary exile, hunted by those who he had once deemed as friends and family, forced to seek refuge outside the island of Geragha and upon the shores of Faradas. Long story short, he lived quite the adventurous life, managed to settle down in a remote village, helped the local populace there and in exchange received a plot of land. Upon this plot of land, he built something he had always dreamt about. A simple tavern. A tavern which soon prospered due to the village resting right in the middle of one of the more often trod trade paths between the human kingdoms in the east and the free people living in the south. A tavern in which he could finally feel safe in. And a tavern that got named after the sturdy trees and the three stars upon the sky that offered him safety and comfort during darker times. Not to mention they eventually lead him to where he is now.
As to how he looks, he once had an encounter with a certain unholy deity a long, long time ago. He also played a minor role in said deity getting banished in the first place. During that fateful encounter, he discovered an old abandoned temple of Taegan. Not only that, but he also stole a few artefacts from there, unaware to whom the temple had belonged to. Unaware that Taegan had once more been set free upon the world. And so they met outside the temple, and so Taegan tried to deal with Bracca. Saved by the sword he had stolen, a sword Taegan himself had once used in battle and a sword that Taegan had been on his way to retrieve for himself once more, he unfortunately did manage to get cursed as the other artefact he had stolen was cut in half by the sword in question. The resulting magical blast was enough to drive Taegan away, but did temper with Bracca's innate shape-shifting abilities. So his skin turned white, black stripes curled around his body and his fingernails turned into claws. Not to mention he now has to wear a long cape while out and about, lest he wishes to draw unwanted attention to himself with the striped, black and white tail behind him and with his fur covered ears.
Unable to hide these traits of his shape-shifting nature yet more than able to turn into a white-tiger at will, he balances on a thin blade between getting spotted eventually by his father's spies and having to deal with confused customers.
Alas. Fate is a harsh mistress, and while Bracca has been busy serving drinks, changing the linens in the rooms, and restocking the cellar with some of the most expensive wines he can get his hands on, his father has been busy. And Bracca may soon discover that no matter how far he tries to run, he cannot escape his father forever.
So yeah. Something I have been planning for a long while but something that I was unable to see through until now. Seeing as how there was no prior, existing art of Bracca but I did want to bring him to life visually once more, I decided to contact the one person who I knew had a spectacular art style, had drawn Bracca in the past, and who also had a memory of some description of this character.
And when I say that there was no existing art, but that he had been actually drawn in the past, well. Hard-drive failures tend to cause irrecoverable data loss.
Now, some of you might notice that "Haa, your FA username is the same as the name of this character!". And you would be entirely correct. Reason for that being that I ORIGINALLY planned back in 2011 to include art of this character here. Then, I had that harddrive fail me and instead this FA account of mine became a way of reaching out to artists that were not that active over at DA. Not to mention I already followed some people here with a different account and decided to make a new one.
Then Taegan kind of just. Happened. And the result is what you can see in my gallery! But now, finally, I am able to get some art of this handsome kitty you see here. And oh yes, there will be more art of him to come. You can be sure of that.
Bracca will also play a somewhat big role in my trilogy of fantasy books that I am writing, the prologue to the first book which you can find over at my DA gallery.
Baracca "Bracca" Garghan belongs to yours truly,
Art by the fantastic Karoliina Hankonen over at DA. She also has a fantastic webcomic called "Year in Hereafter" if you are not already familiar with that.
TLDR: A shape-shifting prince in exile who became a tavern owner, son to a megalomaniac warlord. Stuck between a human form and that of a white-tiger, with tail and all.
