Hardly. It's way nicer than someone pining over a photograph. Ugh. This has more interesting questions riding in ambiguity. For instance, Spike could have given her those gemstones, and she's taken special care to store them as she has. The selection could even be presented by chance, and her eyes would fall on them unexpectedly, its significance stabbing her with sudden personal revelations.

But you already knew you weren't being pretentious. You were just pretending. Pssh. THAT is pretentious. ;D

She's very cute. :D I can't comment properly on the context, thoooough I could make a guess.
