The eyes are concave so they sit further into the head. The result is that when people look at you it seems lie the fursuiter is looking back at them. I make my own plastic concave eyes:

Although photos can look great, the only down side it seeing these kinds of fursuit heads in person can be a bit jarring as it looks like someone pushed there eyeballs in. Some are even very hard to see unless you have a camera flash lighting them up. Another issue is that the iris disappears completely if you look at the head form the side as seen in the last photo.
That's ok, neither am I (yet)... :) They're those eyes that look sunken back in the face with giant white borders around the insides. Flat eye surfaces are then placed at the back of the eye 'pocket' with an eye looking a certain direction printed or painted on them. Due to the depth and angle that you can view them from, they appear to 'follow' you. ie: They're known as 'follow me' eyes.
