Looking at the forest from over the bridge, Matthew's legs feel weak. He's been there before and has come out alive, he wasn't even worried if he died. But that was because he was the only one at risk and no one would care, and now there was himself and someone else that could die out there. He stepped onto the bridge and started walking over.
"You sure you know the way?" Matthew asked as he looked down at his shadow
"Positive, If you practice enough you can develop a photographic memory." Brian said "So, why do you look unsure?"
"I don't know..." he said and continued half way across.
"I'm scared." Lass whimpered from below "I down't want to die."
Matthew looked down at the girl in the water. "I don't either, but do we have a better choice?"
"I know, but what if it gets worse?"
"It can always..." Then Matthew entered the woods
Even in the daylight is was like passing through the night; the leaves up above would shroud the grass from the sun. In the decent deeper, Matthew would listen to Brian as more and more of the trees looked no different from the ones they would pass next. It just got harder and harder to see as the black would steal more and more of his vision. he could only know a tree was coming because is was now a dark brown silhouette.
Then something was heard lumbering in the distance.
