Nice, and they worked at a brothel?!

Yep. When Petina was in College for her business administration degree she started dabbling in exotic dancing at some of the nearby clubs and even got a couple parts in some local-made porn videos. In her Junior year she applied and was selected to be the centerfold girl for that years edition of Playboy "Girls on Campus" issue.

Due to this exposure, literally, she was contacted by the management of "The Mouse Trap" which is a very upscale brothel in Petina's hometown of New Orleans with an invitation to interview for job there. After doing her own research into the background and history of the brothel and interviewing there she took a job there after graduation. Yeah it wasn't what she'd gotten her degree for but was a business establishment. The pay was good, and it sounded more exciting than working in a office.

It was at "The Mouse Trap" that Petina met Jackie Lyon. Another native of New Orleans Jackie had originally gotten her degree in electrical/mechanical engineering but like Petina had started getting involved with adult entertainment industry while in College. Initially she had helped with lighting and sound systems but eventually started having roles in front of the camera instead. Finding it fun she decided to look for employment opportunities in those areas after she graduated.

They both quickly developed a romantic relationship and often worked together with clients at the brothel. After a couple years there they decided to quit "The Mouse Trap" and stated their own private "escort" service. This they ran successfully for a few years until they they got involved with the whole thing in Andur. Hope this is not too long of a reply.

Oh no I don't mind long replies it's really quite an amazing look back at their histories especially learning that they were quite the naughty girls before their current careers. I like seeing where the characters are like this, quite confident in their sexuality, not afraid to enjoy it, and show that it's not incompatible with being smart and successful.

Both Petina and Jacqui, incidentally, come from the Solar Confederation—or Confederacy, I don’t remember which at the moment—of the twenty-fourth century, the same background from which Vipera Vixen springs.

In fact, Petina and Vipera are something in the nature of arch-nemeses, a rivalry that sprang up after Petina foiled one of Vipera’s plots to defraud a client of hers, if I recall correctly. It gets fascinating, in a witness-a-car-wreck-in-progress sort of way, to watch the two of them interact in Andur (fourteenth century) or in the modern world.

The Mouse Trap is the “mouse part” of the overall brothel (and restaurant and, I think, gift shop) called La Maison de la Lavande, the House of Lavender. The original mansion is a historical landmark, dating back, um, five centuries or so, and it’s been built into this huge labyrinth of connected buildings on a big plot of land. The name stems from the mansion’s involvement with a business that processed lavender for perfumes or colognes, I think.

No, that about describes it. FYI. she spells her abbreviated name in the americanized Jackie. Of course her full name is Jacqueline.
