I decided to rewrite the In a Sea of Time story to make it more interesting. There are more species and nations to make the eventual conflicts much more interesting. Here are the nations featured in this story.
First up is the United Republic of States. A nation of humans not unlike the USA. They're based on my OC nation from Civilization 5 but mostly from a story I am currently writing on another site. The United Republic uses mostly 21st century technology but possess laser weaponry, power armor, and artificial intelligence.
Next is the Remian Empire. They are based on ancient rome but their tech level is that of the post-civil war United States with trains, telegraphs, and ironclads. They no longer practice slavery but instead a system of indentured servitude as an option to payoff debts.
Next is the Entomon Hive. The Entomon are a race of bipedal insects. They are linked together by a hive mind but each entomon is an individual with their own personality. They have no technology to speak of instead relying on their natural strength.
Next is the Daemon Empire. They are a race of, for a lack of a better word, demons. They look like the traditional human depiction of demons. The Daemons are an empire based on strength and birth. The demons have a strict hierarchy based on which type of demon you are. At the bottom are the lesser demons. Then are the Minor demons and harpies which share a tier. After them are the gorgons and naga which also share a tier. Then are the Greater demons. Then are the Demon Lords. Each demon type varies in size and appearance which will be explained in later parts of the story. And yes the Daemon Empire is based on Stuart Slade's The Salvation War.
The City-State of Caelum is next. They are a steampunk society close in line with that of Victorian-era England and Bioshock Infinite's Columbia. Heavier then air flight is considered impossible in Caelum which when introduced to the other nation's air travel will be in for a shock. At the moment a communist workers movement known as the Voice of the Worker is preparing for an all-out rebellion.
There is no other nation more contradictory than The People's Republic of Kantia. The name suggests a communist society but in reality it is more in line with 1984's Oceania. The government is highly controlling and isn't afraid of making those it thinks are a threat disappear. Their tech level is that of 1950s era Soviet Union.
Megatropolis is a huge walled city the size of the state of California. Due to the Elf equivalent of a nuclear war the area outside the walls was rendered uninhabitable. The city suffers from a high crime rate, frequent riots, and a heavily militarized police force. The increasing sentience of synthetic elves is an entirely different problem. Most synths in the future will try to emigrate to the United Republic which has laws against the discrimination of synthetics. The tech level of the elves is that of the 1980s cyberpunk with some magi-tach thrown in.
Not much to be said about Albion. They're a medieval society based on medieval england.
The Dragons are creatures that value strength above all. They will always gravitate towards the strongest power and their allegiance may change depending on who they consider strongest.
The Pantheon is a sprawling city home to the Gods and Goddesses of the Pantheon. Unlike other deities they regularly interact with their followers and their strength comes from the worship they receive from them. As the story goes on they will get stronger or weaker depending on how many are worshiping them. They are mostly benevolent but some have rather sinister intentions.
The island of Amazonia is unique when compared to the rest of the world. The women of Amazonia are much taller than everyone else despite being of fairly average height back in their old world. They range on average from 8 to 10 feet in height. The Amazons quickly learn to use this height difference to their advantage in combat despite being only at a bronze age level in technological development.
